Will there be a Clerks part 3? Kevin Smith mentions the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings Trilogy in Clerks II,

so it seems to me that it would make sense to make the Clerks into a trilogy as well, and round it off with Clerks III. The first Clerks came out in 1994, second in 2006, and I predict the third will come out around 2012. Does anyone agree? The first saw the Clerks in their 20's, 2nd in their 30's and the 3rd would be their 40's. A nice bookend to the Clerks franchise. To show what finally happened to Dante and Randal and Jay and Silent Bob and company. Will there be a Clerks part 3? Kevin Smith mentions the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings Trilogy in Clerks II,
I'm sure there will be another one in a few years when Kevin Smith sells out for a third time and desperately tries to reconnect with the fans that he lost after making ';Jersey Girl.'; Clerks 2 mostly sucked and I kinda pretend it didn't happen. Will there be a Clerks part 3? Most likely...the guy's completely out of ideas.
The only reason that Clerks II was made was as a reward to Jason for getting clean. Kevin had not intentions of ever making it. Jay and Silent Bob was to be the last film featuring them. So, I don't really see him returning to the franchise anytime soon. Is is possible? Yes. Should it be done? I'm iffy on that. If it is a great script. If they can get everyone back together. If it won't cheapen one of the greatest set of characters in comedic film. Then yes. If is is a so-so script and they can't get back the original actors... No, absolutely not

Right now he is working on ';Zack and Miri';, after that ';Red State'; and we still haven't had a superhero film from him. What I would love to see personally is Kevin wooing Lucas into allowing him to make the 3rd trilogy in the Star Wars series. I think that Smith would give it the breath of life that George wasn't able to in the pr-equals.
