Has anyone read the ';Elidor Trilogy';?

they are some of the best books i have ever read.Has anyone read the ';Elidor Trilogy';?
Never heard of it.

Sounds interesting though.

What's it about?Has anyone read the ';Elidor Trilogy';?
it is about an elf named Elidor who is only living because of a magical crown that he wears. but unfortunatly for Elidor an evil wizard wants the crown so he can claim power over the world. so, Elidor and his friends try to stay alive while fighting the evil wizard. Report Abuse

I've read ';Elidor'; but I haven't read the other two. Sorry to say, I wasn't all that taken with it. Something about the characters and the plotline just didn't click with me.

I can see how it would be a good book though. It draws on a lot of elements from old Arthurian tales (ie. the moving stone circle and the sacred objects under the hill).

If you like that trilogy though, another title you might like is ';The Dark is Rising'; series by Susan Cooper. It draws on both Arthurian and Celtic mythology and is written in a very similar style.
The poster is not talking about the wonderful 'Elidor' by Alan Garner (flawed, but re-reading it now as an adult to my daughter, still magical), but about books in the Dragonlance series.

Trilogy.... what about four, five and six parts also.... 3, 4, 5, 6?

A trilogy as we know is three parts.

Could four parts be a quadrilogy? What about five or six? For that matter what about two?

I've thought about using quartet/quintet/sextet, but perhaps someone can suggest something better?Trilogy.... what about four, five and six parts also.... 3, 4, 5, 6?
I am instinctively inclined to go for quadrology, quintology, sextology, etc, although I'm pretty sure none of those is a real word.Trilogy.... what about four, five and six parts also.... 3, 4, 5, 6?
    your second guess is correct
tetrology or quadrilogy, - a compound work that is made up of four (numerical prefix tetra-) distinct works.

Five-book series and six-book series are used for series of five and six books respectively.
Are we talking books or movies?

a series, ex. in a 3 part series, there would be 3 sequels. ,

assuming each one was a continuation of the previous one

a set , a 4 part/piece set, they are not sequels and would be only related by one or two areas area, like household repair

    I doubt it

What happened to Night watch, it was supposed to be a trilogy. the first one was brilliant?

Where are the others, when do they come out. What happened to Night watch, it was supposed to be a trilogy. the first one was brilliant?
no offense, but i don't see why you would want to see the others????

haha i burned it but i nvr got around to watch it i remember previews

and second link is for Nightwatch 3 which is in production and due this year...June 19th...

What's the best movie trilogy of all time?

Indiana JonesWhat's the best movie trilogy of all time?
I'll probably not watch any of those mentioned again, though most were very good trilogies.

But I will gladly re-watch The Good, Bad %26amp; the Ugly, A Fistful of Dollars and A Few Dollars More. What's the best movie trilogy of all time?
The Godfather. The first two are so great they make up for the weakness of the third part.
Lord of the Rings, no doubt
    Lord of the Rings
the godfather is one of favorites but I'd also have to say silence of the lambs, red dragon, and Hannibal
    Lord of the Rings
    LOTR. Easily.
    1. Lord of the Rings

    2. The Godfather

    3. The Matrix
    star wars
    staw wars, hands down
    Scream
Undoubtedly, and to date, only one movie is the mother of all trilogies - LORD OF THE RINGS. To begin with, adapting the book to the screen for a common audience while retaining all the quirks and spirit of the literature is a humongous task. It does not offend the intelligence and keeps a viewer hooked through out in spite of each episode lasting more than 2.5 hours each. It is the only trilogy that was shot back to back and is a commercial %26amp; critical success worldwide.
Lord of the Rings all the way! It's not as good as the books, but no movie is ever better than the book. (Except maybe the Narnia movie. I didn't like the Chronicles of Narnia books.) I also love Pirates of the Caribbean.
    The original ';Star Wars'; trilogy (4,5, %26amp; 6) gets edged out by the ';Lord Of The Rings.'; Lucas broke so much ground in special effects that it need special distinction for that alone. But how do they stack up against the ';Godfather?';

Tough call. ';The Godfather'; is a completely different genre than ';Lord Of The Rings.'; The acting is better in ';Godfather'; but the story is not as tight when compared to the adaptation of Tolkien's work.

The hell with it, I am going with ';The Godfather'; trilogy...it has the better acting and cast. LOTR relied too much on CGI.

';Star Wars'; is my favorite, but that does not mean it is the best.
Despite suffering from third movie-itis, The Godfather.
star wars iv v vi , then lotr
The Godfather. I know, Godfather 3 blew.....but the first two were so incredible that they more than made up for it.
    The Godfather.

    :)
I would say Star Wars but since episodes 1 2 and 3 came out its not a trilogy any more so I would have to say Lord of the Rings beyond a doubt.
    Lord of the Rings
Evil Dead trilogy but you have to watch the 2nd one first

I really like them all, but the third is pretty amazing.Which one of the trilogy of ' The Unforgiven ' by Metallica is your fav.?
1 or 3, the third is just so different and relaxing. While the 1st one is just freaking sick.
they are all really awesome but I Love 3 the most!!

Why did the Matrix trilogy completely fail?

First: admit that Matrix basically sucks and why the smarter, more sophisticated ';13th Floor'; out-matrixes the Matrix. Why did the Matrix trilogy completely fail?
not completely failed.keanu's hotness didn't fail me.i mainly watched the matrix trilogy for entertainment,so i usually fast-forward to the action sequences.i was wondering why in matrix 2,keanu was able to shed a drop of blood even though he was still inside of the matrix fighting the bad guys with the swords? he's The One but not immortal then^__^ i didn't think the matrix trilogy was original at all though.they copied Alice in Wonderland's concept, which is still my all-time favorite. Why did the Matrix trilogy completely fail?
The 1st Matrix was great but they didn't know where to go with it after that and it just got to confusing with all the characters. I haven't seen the 13th Floor so I can't say.
No, I won't admit what would be a lie, to me. However, I do agree that the 2nd and 3rd were not up to what the first and original one started. To me, the story got too convoluted and mixed up, and I didn't care for the ending, either. But I did enjoy the first one, and the fight scenes actually made sense, unlike the fight scenes of certain films where people can fly thru the air, or they stop in midair. In the Matrix, it was because they were IN THE MATRIX.
you shut up dude, the Matrix is great, much better than the dumb 13th floor. you have to understand the philosophy behind it.
I always thought the Matrix was incredibly overrated and boring.

What do you think of the ';Back to the Future'; Trilogy?

LOVE EM!!! Soooo funny! What do you think of the ';Back to the Future'; Trilogy?
Easily among the best film trilogy of all time along with the likes of Indiana Jones, the first Star Wars Trilogy and the live action Lord of the Rings movies. I just loved them!!! Three was obviously the worst but one and two were amazing. And don't listen to the guy who said there'll be a fourth...it won't happen. What do you think of the ';Back to the Future'; Trilogy?
    its was ok!!! byee sam!
Fantastic! Marty! I can hear Doc screaming that name.

    And cool marty, ';you're the doc, doc.';

Yeah, I own the dvd box set.
back to the future trilogy was pretty good but i still like the Org... 1 and 2 back to the future but this trilogy was good just another classic its pretty cheap you can get it at wal mart, and target for $20.
The trilogy is $20 at Wal-Mart, it's so cheap i felt bad if i didn't buy them. They are great movies, and I can't wait to get a flux capacitor for my car ;)
First one was good w/ HG Wells inspired story... II %26amp; III sucked.
I love it!! I think part 2 was the best though.....then followed by part 1......but part 3 wasnt that good to me.....but Back to the Future 2 is my fav movie of all time...
BTTF is one of my favorite movies ever! I love them!
One of the best trilogies around. The second and third movies don't quite capture the magic of the first, but they're all still very good.
great they making a forth hope not i hate when they over kill it
They have the same affect on me as the Terminator films. All the trying to work out how it would all work if he went back there but it's based on him knowing this now and blah, blah, blah.........drives me nuts.
despite what alot of people say, i liked #3 the best. 2 was pretty good with all the future stuff and #1 is a classic. dont know, i just love seeing that flying train at the end of #3!!! hahaha.
I did not like them at all.
one of the best movies ever
I love the Trilogy, of course the original was the best, in my opinion, but all three were good.

    ';Great Scott!';

I love Michael J. Fox. Such good movies without violence or swearing. Movies that kids can actually watch, but also movies that entertain adults!

ok i read the 1st two books and i really like them.

At this point you HAVE to read the last one! It's no more confusing than the first two, but it was probably my favorite out of the series. The plot is really cool and intricate. It's just a great ending to an awesome series.
YES it is definately worth reading.

the plot is confusing, similar to the other two, but it is definately a good read, especially if you enjoyed the first two

The Merlin Trilogy by Mary Stewart?

Reviews and things call it 'The Merlin Trilogy' and my mum read them as a trilogy when she was in her teens. Yet she has written 5 to do with King Arthur, merlin etc. Wikipedia calls it the Merlin series. these are them:

    The Crystal Cave (1970)

    The Hollow Hills (1973)

    The Last Enchantment (1979)

    The Wicked Day (1983)

The Prince and the Pilgrim (1995)

Is it a Merlin trilogy or do these last two books not contribute much to the story? The Merlin Trilogy by Mary Stewart?
The series is a quartet of books plus one extra, not a trilogy.

The extra book “The Prince and the Pilgrim” could be inserted between “The Last Enchantment”' and “The Wicked Day” if you want to consider it to be part of the same world as the rest of the series and want to read the series following internal chronological order.

Any reviewers who call this series a trilology are just displaying their ignorance. The Merlin Trilogy by Mary Stewart?
Your mother may have indeed read the trilogy, but a gap of only 4 years between books -- 1979 - 1983 -- leads me to believe that the the fourth book could have a great deal to do with the previous three. It's not impossible that a twelve year span could still keep the fifth book related to the previous four. John Updike's Rabbit novels are all about 11 years apart in publication.

Who watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy?

I loved The Lord of the Rings trilogy and have all 3 movies. Why do you like?Who watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy?
I have loved the LOTR (and The Hobbit) books for years. When I first knew they were making the movies for LOTR, I was so excited. But I was also extremely worried about being disappointed because I knew what I wanted the movies to be, and was afraid they wouldn't live up to my expectations. I walked into the theater to see Fellowship, and I couldn't believe what I was seeing! I was completely spellbound for 3+ hours! It so surpassed anything I had hoped for. I just kept going OMG, OMG! And when I got home, the first thing I did was grab my copy of FOTR and page through it, because I knew some of the lines in the movie came directly from the book. I was very impressed with all 3 of the movies and think that Peter Jackson did a tremendous job. Yes, he left out some parts, and rearranged things a bit, took some 'creative liberties', but he tried to stay as true to the books as possible. Now, to get around to actually answering your question.....lol. I love the movies because they bring to life 'people' and places that I've visited in my imagination for years; watching the movies sort of feels like 'going home' to me.Who watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy?
the two towers is the best because of the ents and the comic relief from Gimli
i love them cuz legolas is hawt and he's an elf and he's violent just like me. and they're friggin interresting
Because it's the epitome of seeing hope in a hopeless situation. Classic good versus evil and as Galadriel said...';Even the smallest person can change the fate of the world';. I just wish Sam would have gotten more credit. My hat's off to Frodo but Sam was kicking some serious A@@ in the third movie, and I don't honestly think Frodo could have made it without him.
I thought they were beautifully made. I have all three extended version.

    Donna A.
I LOVE THE LORD OF THE RINGS!!!!!!!!!!!

they have some pretty hott guys in those movies. lol
I just to sdmire the work that went into the amazing potral of the books. It is awesome to see what was done to film them and not damage the land unlike so many other films.
The movies are great, but the book is so much better. I highly recommend reading it if you have time!
I did but I fell asleep half way through. The last one is the best.
I love the cinematography. Makes me want to visit New Zealand where it was filmed. Very dramatic and appropriate settings. The story of course is engaging as well - really pulls you in for the 10 hours or so of the epic. Really defines a ';big'; picture with the huge battle sequences that are so realistic....
I have the trilogy also. I like everything about it. But most of all I like Orlando Bloom as an elf.
It puts me in a romanic mood

Can anyone explain me how Matrix Trilogy is linked with Hindu Mythology?

The makers have spent a lot of time in analysing the facts in Hinduism, which stresses on 'There is no two' and so any thing is possible by an individual. Can anyone explain me how Matrix Trilogy is linked with Hindu Mythology?
The Matrix has been an alarmingly hit Hollywood movie that has seeped through the corners of the world, generating billions of dollars of revenue. This action masterpiece created by the Wachowski brothers has produced millions of fans around the world. But the Matrix trilogy has a deeper meaning than just guns and bullets. This is one interpretation of The Matrix.

There are many parallels between The Matrix trilogy and Hindu philosophy. The Matrix can even be considered as an example to better understand some of the concepts of Hinduism. Maya, Moksha, the concept of God and the balance of good and bad can all be understood through its well-known story. For those who haven鈥檛 seen the movies, The Matrix is about a computer hacker (Neo) who is given the knowledge by Morpheus that the world he was living in is not real, and just a simulation created by machines of the future. He races to save the city of the real world (Zion), created by others like him, from the machines.

Let鈥檚 start from the beginning of the story. Neo, a computer hacker, is wondering about what The Matrix is, after he hears about it in a chat room. It haunts him for a long time, until he meets Trinity, aide of Morpheus, who tells him how to find out. Neo asks her, ';What is the Matrix?';, to which Trinity replies, ';Twelve years ago I met [Morpheus], a great man, who said that no one could be told the answer to that question. That they had to see it, to believe it.'; Morpheus here acts as a guru or teacher, a realized one who leads his followers to truth. He tells Neo exactly what Ramakrishna Paramahamsa said to Swami Vivekananda鈥檚 question, ';What is God?'; Hinduism says that God cannot be explained鈥he truth can only be experienced.

    Then in the story, Morpheus shows and explains to Neo about the Matrix, the world from which he was living in before he got to the real world. Neo asks, ';This isn't real?'; To which Morpheus replies, ';What is real? How do you define real? If you're talking about your senses, what you feel, taste, smell, or see, then all you're talking about are electrical signals interpreted by your brain.';

In Hinduism, this concept of the ';Matrix'; is called Maya. It is said that the world we live in is just an illusion, created by our minds. Our senses, feelings and emotions are just illusions we trick ourselves into believing in. In explaining Maya, Sankara very often refers to the example of the rope and the snake. As long as one mistakes a rope for a snake, he is frightened and reacts to the rope as if it were a real snake. When he realizes that what he sees is only a rope, he laughs.

The Hindu concept of God is the state in which one realizes that the world is just a Matrix, or Maya, and that everything around him is an illusion. This state is called Moksha, or Nirvana, which Neo attains in the movie after he realizes what the Matrix is.

    Then, in the second movie, the maker calls Neo ';an unbalanced equation';. By this he is saying exactly what Hinduism believes. Good cannot be alone in this world. Without Bad, the earth will not spin. There has to be a balance of good and evil, of creation and destruction. One of our Gods, Shiva is called the destructor. Destruction is also necessary because ';Everything that has a beginning has an end.';

Maybe the Wachowski brothers did not think of Hinduism when they created the widely known Matrix trilogy. But Hinduism is such a scientific way of life that it automatically applies to the modern world. To fully realize Hindu philosophy, we must do what a well known phrase says 鈥?';Wake up, Neo.';Can anyone explain me how Matrix Trilogy is linked with Hindu Mythology?
    finding The One within
After the first one the Matrix sort of descended into pretentious bollocks.

As for a link with Hindu mythology i'm not too sure.
Kumaraa has given a good comparitive explaination...just want to correct him at on point...

Lord Shiva is not destroyer of Humans...He isthe destroyer of Universe..When Hindus speak about creator, Preserver, Destroyer --- it is being mentioned in d context of Universe n not humans....Shivji is not '; evil';....that is a wrong explaination...actually according to Hinduism..there is no ';evil'; of ';leader of evil';....there can b evil people ( bcause of their karma)...but ultimately everything is of Good i.e God - Shiva, Bramha, Vishnu..

  • Will The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (movie) meet future movie viewers' expectations?

The Lord of the Rings is now considered a classic and may be the best motion picture of this generation. These stories of rings and hobbits get passed down to future readers who will become aware of what great success the generation before them was granted. My question is this, do you think the future fans of J. R. R. Tolkien will be fulfilled or disappointed with the classic film of our generation? lord of the rings is going to be in the futrue as the original star wars trilogy is like today. i was satisfied

What's the most awesome movie trilogy ever?

Which one is your favorite, and why? Does it hold good memories? A good message? Or does it just rock? Horror, adventure, fantasy, sci-fi? (I'll bend the rules a little and allow for movies that are longer than trilogies but more than just sequals XD)

My personal favorite is the LOTR trilogy, then the POTC trilogy. I'm a sucker for fantasy :PWhat's the most awesome movie trilogy ever?
I love all of the trilogies that have been said so far, but i would say that The Godfather, Star Wars (original trilogy, I count them as two separate trilogies), Pirates and LOTR are easily the best. I'm not a huge fan of The Godfather part 3, but what could compete with the level of awesomeness that the other two had? LOTR was a brilliant adaption of a brilliant story, and couldn't have been made better, and Pirates is just a surprisingly great film series that Johnny Depp's acting and eccentricities made as good as they are.

I wish that terminator 3 hadn't been terrible so I could say those films, because Judgement day is genious. What's the most awesome movie trilogy ever?
I'd go with the Matrix trilogy as my favorite. I just never get tired of watching it and I love how you can interpret the meaning of the movies in anyway that makes sense to you.

I would like to say the Godfather Trilogy as well but I'm not a big fan of Godfather III, its not as good as the first two.
    1. Star Wars (original)

    2. Lord of the Rings

    3. Indiana Jones movies

    4. The Godfather (Part 3 hurts it)

    5. The Matrix (half of Reloaded and all of Revolution hurts it)

    6. Star Wars (prequel - should have been better)
Pirates of the caribbean is the best trilogy ever made.

--my husband and I discuss this very thing in great length the other evening. We used the old ';if you were stuck watching one trilogy for the rest of your life'; thing and we decided that while Lord of the Rings, X-Men, %26amp; Star Wars are all great we just felt that this one was the only one we could handle watching over and over and over and over again forever.

Sometimes you just don't feel like Lord of the Rings or X-Men, but you're always in the mood for Jack Sparrow.
I would have to say the original ';Star Wars'; trilogy. Every one has kick a** action, dialogue and characters. I watched them as a kid so they bring back a lot of great memories for me.
first of all harry potter is not a trilogy.

now that i have that out of my system--

    i love LOTR!!!

    POTC is second.

i've never seen the matrix. those are the only trilogy's i can think of.
That's a hard one. I like Star Wars (4, 5, and 6) (I'm not too bigg on the first three) and the Matrix was good. I also like the first three Exorsicts and the first three Omens. I know they have more, but I like the first three the best. X-Men was okay. LOTR is awesome too.

    %26lt;3,
Star Wars is the best movie saga ever!!!!!!!

come on, ';In a galaxy far far away';, thats a part of our popular culture. the Star Wars saga is so awesome
    Godfather I, II, III

    Acting, cast, consistency.
    Pirates of the Caribbean!!!
I would have to say the

Lord of the Ring Trilogy- for its Story and Screenplay

    Harry Potter- sor its presentation

    star wars- for good action

pirates of carribean- for good acting by Johny Depp
    Star Wars .... enough said
Matrix seems like a good one.. and star wars isn't a trilogy.. it was 6 movies.
    saw
    Harry Potter rocks!
    the godfather..1,2,3...should i explain further...
I would have to say the Lord of the Rings. it's full of action and a GREAT story line good job J.R.R. Tolkien
    star wars rox!!!!!

    great action, great movies!

Can someone please explain the plot of the Star Wars trilogies?

I have no idea what those movies are about. I've seen all of them about three times, and the plot just baffles me. If someone could tell me in a short paragraph what the movies as a whole are about, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks! Can someone please explain the plot of the Star Wars trilogies?
    The Original Trilogy (Episodes IV-VI):

The Original Trilogy picks up for the first time a long time ago in a galaxy far far away...In this trilogy the entire galaxy is in a state of Civil War, the galactic government in power at the time was the Galactic Empire or more simply just ';The Empire';. The Rebel Alliance was the group formed by those who wanted to put an end to the tyranny of the Empire and establish a peaceful democracy just as had ruled the galaxy before the empire. So this galactic Civil War was shown throughout the Original Trilogy with the main villains Darth Vader and his Sith Master the Emperor, trying to wipe out the ';good guys'; Rebel Alliance with its hero's of Luke, Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca.... and so on. Luke was studying to become the last of the Jedi, after Vader and the Emperor wiped out all of the Jedi when the Empire came to power. And so the Civil War ended with the Destruction of the Second Death Star in Episode VI when both the Emperor and Vader died leaving the Empire in disarray and allowing the Rebels to win.

    The Prequel Trilogy (Episodes I-III):

The Prequel Trilogy goes back to about 33 or so years before the events of Episode IV: A New Hope. It shows the last hint of peace that the galaxy had had, while still being ruled by the peaceful galactic democratic style government known simply as the Galactic Republic. It was later called ';The Old Republic';. These movies show exactly how the galaxy went from having 1,000 years of peace, which the Jedi were largely responsible for, to collapsing at the hands of a Sith Lord (Darth Sidious, aka Chancellor Palpatine, aka Emperor Palpatine) and his new apprentice the fallen jedi Anakin Skywalker who became Darth Vader. Can someone please explain the plot of the Star Wars trilogies?
Episodes 1,2, and 3 explain how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader. They also show the beginnings of the Galactic Empire. Episode 3 ends with the birth of Luke and Leia, who will become part of the Rebel Alliance in the next trilogy.

Episodes 4,5,and 6 show Luke becoming a Jedi Knight and confronting Darth Vader, who is his father. They also show the defeat of the Empire and Vader's redemption.

The best thing to do is consult Wikipedia. There everything should be laid out in detail. Hope you watch the films again and develop an appreciation for them.
Aside from Jedi Knights and cool monsters and different planets it's about the Rebel Alliance trying to stop the Dark Side from taking over the galaxy with the Death Star.

the life, down fall, and redemption of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader by his son Luke Skywalker.
set in a galaxy far far away - good guys(rebels) want to kill the bad guys(sith)
Episode 1.) The film begins as two Jedi, assigned as ambassadors to resolve a trade dispute, arrive in orbit of the threatened planet Naboo. When the situation turns violent, the Jedi, along with Padm茅 Amidala, the planet's queen, flee Naboo in an attempt to reach the capital world of the Galactic Republic, Coruscant. There they hope to find a peaceful end to the dispute. Along the way, the ship must stop for repairs on the planet Tatooine. It is there that the Jedi encounter Anakin Skywalker, a young slave boy who is unusually strong with the Force. When the group returns to Naboo, they realize that the situation is much worse than they had at first thought: the evil Sith, ancient enemies of the Jedi, have returned.

Episode 2.) The film is set ten years after the Battle of Naboo, when the galaxy is on the brink of civil war. Under the leadership of renegade Jedi Master Count Dooku, thousands of solar systems threaten to secede from the Republic. When an assassination attempt is made on Senator Padm茅 Amidala, the former Queen of Naboo, Jedi apprentice Anakin Skywalker is assigned to protect her, while his mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi is assigned to investigate the assassination attempt. Soon the Jedi are drawn into the heart of the separatist movement, and the beginning of a new threat to the galaxy: the Clone Wars.

Episode 3.) Three years after the onset of the Clone Wars, the noble Jedi Knights have been leading a massive clone army into a galaxywide battle against the Separatists. The Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic reveals his true nature as a Sith Lord as he unveils a plot to rule the galaxy by transforming the Republic into a Galactic Empire. Jedi hero Anakin Skywalker is seduced by the dark side of the Force to become Darth Sidious's new apprentice鈥擠arth Vader. The Jedi are all but eliminated with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jedi Master Yoda forced into hiding. The only hope for the galaxy is Anakin's own offspring 鈥?the twin children born in secrecy who will grow up to become Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa.

Episode 4.) The film is set about 19 years after the formation of the Galactic Empire; construction has finished on the Death Star, a weapon capable of destroying a planet. After Princess Leia Organa, a leader of the Rebel Alliance, receives the weapon's plans in the hope of finding a weakness, she is captured and taken to the Death Star. Meanwhile, a young farmer named Luke Skywalker meets Obi-Wan Kenobi, who has lived in seclusion for years on the desert planet of Tatooine. When Luke's home is burned and his aunt and uncle killed, Obi-Wan begins Luke's Jedi training as they鈥攁long with Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2鈥攁ttempt to rescue the Princess from the Empire. Unlike the later prequel films, this film, along with the two films that follow, mostly focuses on the events of one particular sector of the galaxy, rather than the interstellar perspective that the first three films take.

Episode 5.) The film concerns the continuing struggles of the Rebel Alliance against the Galactic Empire. In it, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Princess Leia Organa are being pursued across space by Darth Vader and his elite forces. Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker begins his major Jedi training with Yoda, after an instruction from Obi-Wan Kenobi's spirit. In an emotional confrontation with Vader, Luke is presented with a horrific revelation, and must face his destiny.

Episode 6.) The film is set in 4 ABY, one year after the Empire's occupation of Cloud City, when Luke Skywalker and friends travel to Tatooine to rescue their friend Han Solo from the vile Jabba the Hutt. The Empire prepares to crush the Rebellion with a more powerful Death Star, while the Rebel fleet mounts a massive attack on the space station. Luke Skywalker confronts his father, Darth Vader, in a final climactic duel before the evil Emperor. Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader is redeemed from the dark side.
Okay, Wikipedia does a good summary: The prequel trilogy follows the upbringing of Anakin Skywalker, who is discovered by the Jedi Knight Qui-Gon Jinn. He is believed to be the ';Chosen One'; foretold by Jedi prophecy to bring balance to the Force. The Jedi Council, led by Yoda, sense that his future is clouded with fear, but reluctantly allows Qui-Gon's apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi to train Anakin after Qui-Gon is killed by the Sith Lord Darth Maul. At the same time, the planet Naboo is under attack, and its ruler, Queen Padm茅 Amidala, seeks the assistance of the Jedi to repel the attack. The Sith Lord Darth Sidious secretly planned the attack to give his alias, Senator Palpatine, a pretense to overthrow the Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic.[3] The remainder of the prequel trilogy chronicles Anakin's fall to the dark side, as Sidious attempts to create an army to defeat the Jedi and lure Anakin to be his apprentice.[4] Anakin and Padm茅 fall in love and secretly wed, and eventually Padme becomes pregnant. Anakin soon succumbs to his anger, becoming the Sith Lord Darth Vader. While Sidious re-organizes the Republic into the Galactic Empire, Vader participates in the extermination of the Jedi Order, culminating in a lightsaber battle between him and Obi-Wan. After defeating his former apprentice, Obi-Wan leaves Vader for dead. However, Sidious arrives shortly after to save him and put him into a suit of black armor that keeps him alive. At the same time, Padm茅 dies while giving birth to twins. The twins are hidden from Vader and are not told who their true parents are.[5]

The original trilogy begins 19 years later as Vader nears completion of the massive Death Star space station which will allow him and Sidious, now the Emperor, to crush the rebellion which has formed against the evil empire. He captures Princess Leia Organa who has stolen the plans to the Death Star and hidden them in droid R2-D2. R2-D2, along with his counterpart C-3PO, escape to the planet Tatooine. There, the droids are purchased by Luke Skywalker, son of Anakin, and his step-uncle and aunt. While Luke is cleaning R2-D2, he accidentally triggers a message put into the robot by Leia, who asks for assistance from Obi-Wan. Luke later assists the droids in finding the Jedi Knight, who is now passing as an old hermit under the alias Ben Kenobi. Obi-Wan tells Luke of his father's greatness, but says that he was killed by Vader.[12] Obi-Wan and Luke hire the Corellian space pilot and smuggler Han Solo and his Wookiee co-pilot Chewbacca to take them to the rebels. Obi-Wan begins to teach Luke about the Force, but allows himself to be killed in a showdown with Vader during the rescue of Leia. His sacrifice allows the group to escape with the plans that allow the rebels to destroy the Death Star.[2]

Vader continues to hunt down the rebels, and begins building a second Death Star. Luke travels to find Yoda to become trained as a Jedi, but is interrupted when Vader lures him into a trap by capturing Han and the others. Vader reveals that he is Luke's father and attempts to turn him to the dark side.[6] Luke escapes, and returns to his training with Yoda. He learns that he must face his father before he can become a Jedi, and that Leia is his twin sister. As the rebels attack the second Death Star, Luke confronts Vader under the watch of the Emperor. Instead of convincing Luke to join the dark side, the young Jedi defeats Vader in a lightsaber duel and is able to convince him that there is still some good in him. Vader kills the Emperor before succumbing to his own injuries, and the second Death Star is destroyed, restoring freedom to the galaxy.[7]

So good luck, and Star Wars is awesome!

Does anyone know if the Saw Trilogy DVD has been taken out of stores for any reason?

I bought the Saw Trilogy DVD boxset when it came out in December, in Australia. I thought that the trilogy was meant to come with the unrated/uncut editions of the movies but it didn't. Now, I never see the boxset in stores. Do you think they could have taken it out of stores because they put the wrong versions of the movies in the boxsets? Please tell me what you think....

ThanxDoes anyone know if the Saw Trilogy DVD has been taken out of stores for any reason?
probably because the 4th one is getting ready to come out on dvd and they have a ';NEW'; box set getting ready to be released. thats why you should never buy box sets. because every time theres a sequel, theres a new box set released. wait till the franchise dies and then buy the last box set. or just buy the individual dvd's as they come out. you're really not getting anything more by buying the box set anyway. all of the movies have been made into directors cut special editions. which apparrently you didnt get in your box set.Does anyone know if the Saw Trilogy DVD has been taken out of stores for any reason?
no. i bought the dvd's all separately as the directors cuts came out. i didnt get the box set because i already had the movies. i'll get the saw 4 dir cut when it comes out this tue Report Abuse

If i get Grand theft auto trilogy for my PS2...?

will i have any problems with saving it on my memory card... bcuz i heard from some people that they can't save it on their memory cards. btw the only GTA game i've saved on my memory card before is liberty city stories. or should i delete all existing GTA data off my ps2 (cuz i only started LCS and got pretty bored of it..heard its the worst of the series). and my ps2 is modded (if that helps). plz help. thxIf i get Grand theft auto trilogy for my PS2...?
You could try but you I wouldnt worry there should be plenty of space if that is the only game you have saved on. Most people save lots of games onto their memory cards and including multiples of the same game so you will not need to delete Liberty City Stories games

  • The c.s.lewis space trilogy?

do these books need to be read in order? i have hideous strength and would like to start there. The c.s.lewis space trilogy?
It doesn't really matter if you are talking about That Hideous Strength. The first two, Out of the Silent Planet and Peralandra, deal with events that are more chronologically related to each other. The third in the series stylistically veers in a slightly different direction, but you don't need any ';background info'; to appreciate it.

    Fantastic books!The c.s.lewis space trilogy?
yes you should start at the begining and work your way through, The books and great because I have read some of them but not all. So I hope this helps.
You really should read them in order. It will make more sense if you do, and you won't miss anything. The order should be: Out of the Silent Planet then Perelandra then That Hideous Strength. I read them years ago but remember thinking the books were great.

Krystof Kieslowski's Three Colors Trilogy: Blue, White and Red.

Ted Dekker's books... Circle Trilogy and Blink?

I really want to start reading Ted Dekker's books, I've heard they were really interesting, but I don't know which one to start reading.

Should I read the Circle Trilogy first? (I heard that there's more than three books to the sequel, so it's not a trilogy?) If so, what is the order of the books in the series?

Or should I read Blink first and why?

Also, if you could add in a brief summary for the books, that would be so awesome.

Thanks in advance!Ted Dekker's books... Circle Trilogy and Blink?
I've heard quite a lot about Ted Dekker's books because my mom's been reading them. He's one of her favorite authors and more than once I've been tempted to pick one up on my own. Even though I've never actually read them myself, I thought I'd help you out to the best of my abilities because it's hard to get an answer to a question that's not about a popular author/book.

    ---------------------------------

Blink was originally published in 2003 but it was re-released in 2007 under the title 'Blink of an Eye' with new content.

Summary: Seth Borders (the main protagonist in the story) is a college student who has one of the world's highest IQs. One day he discovers that he possesses a tremendous skill: the ability to see multiple possible futures. It first manifests itself only a few seconds at a time and gradually exponentiates into an ability to see millions of possibilities that could happen hours and days later. Little does Seth know that when he is thrown together with an Arabian princess, Miriam Al-Asamm, who flees her country to escape oppression, he will soon have the adventure of his life as together they explore the truth about Islam, Christianity, and Seth's gift of Precognition while running for their lives.

    ---------------------------------

The Circle Trilogy seems slightly more involved than 'Blink'. It's true that it's no longer a trilogy, it's a series. The fourth book, 'Green', is coming out September 1, 2009 which happens to be in a few days. 'Green' is being called Book 0 because it's a prequel to the series. (Think The Hobbit to Lord of the Rings.) Ted Dekker himself has said that you can either read 'Green' first or last and it wouldn't matter but it is the last book in the series.

Short summaries for all four books can be found here: http://www.teddekker.com/green/

When you arrive at the website, after the short introduction that you can just skip, click 'Circle Series' at the top to take you straight to the summaries.

    ---------------------------------

As to whether you should read 'Blink' or The Circle Series first, it might be a good idea to read 'Blink' to see if you like the author before you get into the series. To me, the series sounds more captivating though.

I hope this helps.Ted Dekker's books... Circle Trilogy and Blink?
    http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/d/ted-dekker/

All of the books he has written with summaries and other info... its a great site maybe it can help you it has helped me find out about books a lot in the past.

I say start with blink because when you start to read the others it's kind of circluare as in the books interconnect with each other, the circle trilogy and the lost books as well as a link to skin also the paradise books fit in there too. so start with one of the others first unless you have time to get captured into the series. I like all of his books personally.

All the best trilogy's come in fours....

Has anybody read the Dragonlance books? If so what is the Order they should be read in? (by trilogy)?

I've read all of them..and I recommend starting with the Dragonlance Chronicles...3 books, all named after seasons.

I work with a guy that loves these books so much that his daughter's name is Kitiara, and his son is Sturm.

Lord of the Rings trilogy vs Prince Caspian?

whatcha think me old muckersLord of the Rings trilogy vs Prince Caspian?
Oh my holy fcuk. lol Don't ever insult Lord of the Rings like that ever!

That's like Star Wars vs Star Trek.

There is no comparison, in book or film form. Not that Prince Caspian and all that series isn't OK, but LOTR is beyond it. Prince Caspian can't even see LOTR because it's so far beyond him. Lord of the Rings trilogy vs Prince Caspian?
I see that many of the people here seem to like the LOTR trilogy much more than Prince Caspian. I, on the other hand, liked Prince Caspian more. I'm not saying that LOTR is bad, because it probably comes in on #2; it's just a little bit more for, well, ';older audiences'; whereas Prince Caspian has managed to keep a PG-rating.

Now, comparing a masterpiece trilogy that's been out for several years and that's seen world-wide to one movie of the (hopefully) seven Narnia movies (that aren't even near-done) that has been out for over half a year now probably will result in the answers that have already been given. LOTR is definately a great Trilogy, but Prince Caspian has clearly left many audiences in awe as well :)
Honestly, it's not a comparison. The scope of LotR was just so huge in comparison. That's not to say Prince Caspian wasn't really good...

That's like how so many people compared LotR to Harry Potter (and Harry Potter to the Narnia books and now Harry Potter to Twilight). None of these movies can really be compared. Sure, they're all set in a fantastical world with battles of good v. evil or what have you (this excludes Twilight...haven't seen it so don't include it any further remarks I'm making, lol) but the stories are so completely different and the characters are all unique. You can't compare Frodo to Harry or Harry to Caspian or Sauron to Voldemort or Aslan to Dumbledore. It's just not that simple. I think a person (like me) can be a huge fan off all of these series. I've read the Narnia books and the Harry Potter series and loved both. Harry Potter was more for me because when I'm reading a good book, I don't want it to end and the lenth of the last four were pure heaven. But that's beside the point.

A more even comparison would be...Deep Impact to Armageddon (seriously, it was SO similiar!).
Two masterpieces but aimed to different people/public. Lord of the Rings is directed to adults or general public while Chronicles of Narnia is for children. As a work for adults the books of LOTR are longer, with more characters, more complex plot.
Though Prince Caspian, together with the rest of the Narnia series is quite easy to follow and rather interesting, it simply cannot compare to the LotR trilogy. The LotR trilogy is a lot better, with a much larger fanbase as well.
LORD OF THE RINGS is in a different league than CRONICLES OF NARNIA, PRINCE CASPIAN etc..............

3 fantastic series of books and movies are:

    LORD OF THE RINGS,

    NARNIA,

    HARRY POTTER....................

    **********ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC*********
I actually like the Narnia movie's a lot better. I could never get into the Lord Of The Rings at all. Narnia was a lot easier to follow.
I love The Chronicles of Narnia series and Prince Caspian was amazing. I'm not much of a Lord of the Rings fan, though so I can't really compare.
Lord Of The Rings Trilogy are a complete masterpiece, they don't even compare to Narnia.
I am insulted just by you asking that question. Shame on you to even think of comparing The Lord of the Rings with that puny movie...
Lord of the Rings no hesitation
Lord of the rings rules ok.
lord of the rings hands down!!

    narnia doesn't even come close.
you are so dumb they dont even compare

and the list is growing larger every day.Any good sf and fantasy series 2 read (like inheritence trilogy n ringworld series)?
The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant (and Second Chronicles and Final Chronicles) by Steven R Donaldson

The Dark Tower series by Steven King

The Novels of Dune by Frank Herbert

    The Foundation Series by Asimov

The Novels of the Jaran by Kate Elliott

The Wheel of Time Saga by Robert Jordan

Any Dragon Lance, Star Trak, Star Wars series if interested

and, yes, Harry Potter by JK Rowling
For a great combo of sci-fi, fantasy and action try the ';Dune'; series by Frank Herbert.

Also the ';Fellowship of the Ring'; series by JRR Tolkien; even if you saw the movies, the books as usual are better.

There are two fantasy series by Anne Rice, one starting with ';Interview with a Vampire,'; a wonderful book nearly ruined by a poor movie...and the vampire books that follow it; ';The Vampire Lestat'; and another...

and Rice's series about Egyptian rulers and gods, starting as I recall with one called ';Ramses,'; maybe ';Ramses and Isis,'; and continuing.

Ursula K. LeGuin wrote a very good series about Earhsea, starting with ';The Wizard of Earthsea,'; but I like her book ';Left Hand of Darkness'; more, and that may have a follow-up, too-- she has written several short series so you might want to check them over at the library or bookstore.

Anne McCaffery wrote a good series in ';The Pendragon'; run, quite a run of solid action books-- fantasy.

T.H. White wrote a masterpiece of fantasy called ';The Once and Future King,'; a quite large book to be read in sections, like a series, about Camelot.
depends wat u want outta it.

the underland chronicles-some adventure, and its really cool. has the air of harry potter to it.

twilight, new moon, and eclipse-romanc, action, and vampires. really good!!!
I highly recommend George R.R. Martin's series, A Song of Ice and Fire. If you're tired of cliched, black and white characters and predictable plots, this is your book. The first book in the series is called A Game of Thrones.

    http://www.amazon.com/Game-Thrones-Song-鈥?/a>

Here is one reviewer's list of reasons to read this series:

    (1) YOU ARE TIRED OF FORMULAIC FANTASY: good lad beats the dark lord against impossible odds; boy is the epitome of good; he and all his friends never die even though they go through great dangers . . . the good and noble king; the beautiful princess who falls in love with the commoner boy even though their stations are drastically different . . . you get the idea. After reading this over and over, it gets old.

    (2) YOU ARE TIRED OF ALL THE HEROES STAYING ALIVE EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE UNDER CONSTANT DANGER: this gets even worse where the author kills a main hero off but that person comes back later in the story. Or, a hero does die but magic brings him back.

This sometimes carries to minor characters where even they may not die, but most fantasy authors like to kill them off to show that some risked the adventure and perished.

    (3) YOU ARE A MEDIEVAL HISTORY BUFF: this story was influenced by the WARS OF THE ROSES and THE HUNDRED YEARS WAR.

    (4) YOU LOVE SERIOUS INTRIGUE WITHOUT STUPID OPPONENTS: lots of layering; lots of intrigue; lots of clever players in the game of thrones. Unlike other fantasy novels, where one side, usually the villain, is stupid or not too bright.

    (5) YOU ARE INTERESTED IN BIASED OPINIONS AND DIFFERENT TRUTHS: GRRM has set this up where each chapter has the title of one character and the whole chapter is through their viewpoint. Interesting tidbit is that you get their perception of events or truths. But, if you pay attention, someone else will mention a different angle of truth in the story that we rarely see in other novels. Lastly and most importantly, GRRM doesn't try to tell us which person is right in their perception. He purposelly leaves it vague so that we are kept guessing.

    (6) LEGENDS: some of the most interesting characters are those who are long gone or dead. We never get the entire story but only bits and pieces; something that other fantasy authors could learn from to heighten suspense. Additionally, b/c the points of views are not congruent, we sometimes get different opinions.

    (7) WORDPLAY: if you're big on metaphors and description, GRRM is your guy. Almost flawless flow.

    (8) LOTS OF CONFLICT: all types, too; not just fighting but between characters through threats and intrigue.

    (9) MULTILAYERED PLOTTING; SUB PLOTS GALORE: each character has their own separate storyline; especially as the story continues and everyone gets scattered. This is one of the reasons why each novel is between 700-900 pages.

    (10) SUPERLATIVE VARIED CHARACTERS: not the typical archetypes that we are used to in most fantasy; some are gritty; few are totally evil or good; GRRM does a great job of changing our opinions of characters as the series progresses. This is especially true in book three.

    (11) REALISTIC MEDIEVAL DIALOGUE: not to the point that we can't understand it but well done.

    (12) HEAPS OF SYMOBLISM AND PROPHECY: if you're big on that.

    (13) EXCELLENT MYSTERIES: very hard to figure out the culprits; GRRM must have read a lot of mystery novels.

    (14) RICHLY TEXTURED FEMALE CHARACTERS: best male author on female characters I have read; realistic on how women think, too.

    (15) LOW MAGIC WORLD: magic is low key; not over the top so heroes can't get out of jams with it.
apart from those already mentioned (anne macaffery also has the pen-name 'Mercedes Lackey', BTW) which i wont bother repeating, although some of them are definately worth reading...

i would suggest Garth Nix (In particular the old kingdom trilogy - Sabriel/Lirael/Abhorsen, and stand alones: The Ragwitch, Shade's Children) or Isobel Carmody (The Obernewyton Series, The Gateway Trilogy, the Legendsong Saga - Darkfall/Darksong/Darkbane, as well as stand alones: Scatterlings, Alayzon Whitestarr, Green Monkey Dreams and Greylands) or Chris Wooding (The Haunting of Alizabel Cray) Sarah Douglas (The Battleaxe Trilogy is exceptional)... Robin Hobb is also brilliant (Assassin's Trilogy - The Liveship Traders Trilogy - Fool's Errand Trilogy and the Forest Mage Trilogy)... China Melveille is superb (New Crobuzonian Series - Peridilo St Station/The Scar/Iron Council, and stand alones: King Rat, UnLunDun) or Tad Williams, who has done a lot of different types of fantasy (War of the Flowers, and the Green Angel Tower series are my favourites) ...um... Laura/Laurell Hamilton is not bad, particularly if you like more erotic/Crime/vampire/wereanimal style fantasy (The Anita Blake Series, The Merry Gentry Series) there is also terry pratchett's Discworld series (30 something books, i prefer the ones with Sam Vimes as the lead character), if you like comic fantasy thats perfect for you. Who else? umm... Janny Wurts, Susan Cooper, Elizabeth Cooper, Eoin Cofer, Margaret Atwood, Raymond E Feist, Tamora Pierce, Emily Rhoda, Sean Williams, Terry Goodkind and Gene Wolfe all have some great series/trilogy works... but these are just off the top of my head - i dont have my bookshelf in front of me, so its just what i can think of...
Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer.

Does anyone know for sure if the SAW Trilogy DVD Box Set will include a free movie ticket?

    lol

    no I doubt it

because who knows when someone will buy the set, so what if the ticket has expired.

this would also mean the manufacturers of the set would have to get this free ticket from each nearby movie place the set is going too.

sounds like crudDoes anyone know for sure if the SAW Trilogy DVD Box Set will include a free movie ticket?
    maybe

I sit worth $10more to get the GTA trilogy?

Has anyone seen the Slumber Party Massacre trilogy or the Sorority House Massacre trilogy?

They are truly classics.Has anyone seen the Slumber Party Massacre trilogy or the Sorority House Massacre trilogy?
I saw Slumber Party Massacre 2 recently. It was so hilarious. I loved that Driller Killer guy - he was this rock star guy with a guitar that changed into a drill with which he would kill the scantily-clad girls. So cheesy but fun.Has anyone seen the Slumber Party Massacre trilogy or the Sorority House Massacre trilogy?
i seen the firt slumber party massacre when i was 11

I really need to know whether i should get need for speed undercover, or gta trilogy for the ps2..?

which one...?I really need to know whether i should get need for speed undercover, or gta trilogy for the ps2..?
Need for speed undercover is rubbish, the GTA trilogy would give you alot more play time.

Undercover is almost exactully the same story as Underground 2, minus the fun.I really need to know whether i should get need for speed undercover, or gta trilogy for the ps2..?
Those are two totally different games. If you like racing games better go for NFS Undercover. If you want a much longer game that has more of a story get GTA. They just came out with a new download for the newest GTA too that expands the story even more. But I think that might just be for the XBox360 version.

I've been pretty dissapointed with the NFS series lately.
It has to be the GTA trilogy. For one, they are probably cheaper all together than the new NFS: Undercover and they have many more elements of play, and not just driving.

It's your choice. After all your the buyer lol.

Return of the king ( lord of the ring trilogy)?

What do you think the lessons and themes being taught in return of the king. I would like to know your opinions on what you took from the movie. all answers welcomeReturn of the king ( lord of the ring trilogy)?
One of the themes was about .....I suppose you'd call it the 'industrial revolution'.....like how Saruman was destroying the forests to grow his army, to make weapons. Only in the case of the LOTR the forest could fight back! LOL

I suppose another would be something like 'united we stand, divided we fall'. If all the different factions of 'good' had only worried about themselves, Souron would have been able to defeat them all, one at a time. Because they all joined together, they were able to defeat him instead.

How about 'be true to your beliefs' and 'don't give up' and 'there's always hope', 'stand by your friends'.

Oh, and maybe something about how even people who are different can be friends if they just take the time to get to know each other, like Gimli and Legolas.

And of course, there's always 'don't go messing with wizards toys'.Return of the king ( lord of the ring trilogy)?
I think some of the themes depicted were:

    Struggle for survival

Bravery ( all the characters faught til the end)

    Friendship

    Good over evil

    Unity

I think some of the lessons are really portrayed in all three.

    - Never think that you cant do anything:- meaning no matter how small you are or may seem nothing is impossible. You can do anything. Look at tiny Frodo doin what noone else could.

-Never give up hope in anyone or anything. People changed in that one. eg. Boromir had a slight change of heart from seeing a glimmer of hope in frodo's determination. Also thats exactly what kept everyone fighting. The lesson that teaches is that even the tiniest thread of hope cango a long way.

-It also shows how different beings can unite and fight for something thats really worth it. Look at how the the elves and men and ghosts all rally together.

There lots of other things but I cant remember them now.

Can anybody explain the whole Star Wars trilogy in a nutshell please.?

My mother has been a Star Wars fan, I mean the Han Solo ones. So I'm trying to explain the prequels to her. Help me please. Can anybody explain the whole Star Wars trilogy in a nutshell please.?
Anikan Skywalker is a gifted child that has an unusually large amount of Force within him. He is discovered and raised by Jedi Knights to become one of them and to defend the galaxy. But he wants too much power too quickly and soon turns to the Dark Side of the Force to get it. This results in confrontations with other Jedi Knights. In one confrontation with his chief mentor Obi Wan Konobi, Anikan loses both his arms and legs and turns into the cyborg Dearth Vader as a result.

However Anikan before he turns into Darth Vader fathers two children who would become Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. Anikan's wife dies in child birth after Anikan attacks her in a fit of rage and shortly before he becomes Darth Vader. The Knights of the Republic split these children up and send them to undisclosed locations after their birth.

About twenty years later Obi Wan Konobi is staying on the same planet has Luke Skywalker. Waiting for his opportunity to reveal Luke's true identity to him and teach him the ways of the Force so as to overthrow Darth Vader who now serves under the evil Emperor Palapine.

That opportunity arrives whren Princess Leia sends an urgent message to Obi Wan Konobi to come and save her shortly before she is captured by the Empire. Two droids C3PO and R2D2 are sent down to Luke's and Obi Wan's planet to deliver the message to Obi Wan. Luke finds them and sends them to Obi Wan who then reveals to Luke his true identity and convinces Luke to join in the fight against the Empire.

Luke then finds transportation off the planet by using the ship of a pilot he meets in a bar, Han Solo. Solo also agrees to help him rescue the Princess for money. They do so and in the process Obi Wan is killed.

The evil Empire's Death Star is set to blow up the planet where the Rebel Alliance is based. But Skywalker with other rebel fighter pilots manage to blow up the Death Star before it can accomplish it's mission.

The Empire continues to survive despite the Death star being blown up and the Rebel alliance relocate to the ice planet of Hoth. Vader finds them and attacks. Luke makes it off the planet and goes and finds the Jedi master Yoda that further teaches him the ways of the Force. Han Solo and Princess Leia make it off Hoth with Vader and the Empire in hot pursuit.

Solo and Leia go to Solo's friend Lando. Lando runs Cloud City. Solo and Leia seek refuge in this city but Lando betrays them to save his city from the Alliance and gives them to Vader. Luke senses that his friends are in trouble and goes to the city where he confronts Darth vader and Vader ends uo telling Luke that he is his father.

Lando double crosses Vader and rescues Leia after Solo is frozen in carbonite and sent to Jabba the Hutt who wants him after Solo dumped some merchandise from Jabba when Solo was being pursued by the Empire. Lando manages to also save Luke.

The Empire builds another Death Star. Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker manages to save Han Solo in a surprise rescue mission on Jabba's barge that results in Jabba dying. The Rebel alliance once again plans an attack on the new death Star. Luke confronts his father Vader once more and Vader tries to seduce Luke in joining the Dark Side but fails. Luke's will turns Vader around and Vader kills the Emperor. Luke can't manage to get Vader off the second Death Star before it blows up after a second Rebel X wing fighter attack permantently destroys the Empire.

That's it in a nutshell. Can anybody explain the whole Star Wars trilogy in a nutshell please.?
Long lost brother and sister find each other and saves universe.......... The End
A young boy named Anakin is found to be extremely powerful in using a supernatural power known as the ';Force';. He is trained by other Force users known as ';Jedi';. When Anakin gets older, he falls in love. An evil force-user named Palpatine (the Emperor) manipulates Anakin into becoming evil. Anakin and the Emperor kill nearly all the Jedi and turn the galaxy into a dictatorship.

Anakin and his love had had twins before Anakin became evil. However, Anakin did not know these twins were born, and so they were kept hidden from him by the few remaining Jedi.

When Luke, the boy of the twins, becomes older, he is taught by the remaining Jedi how to use the Force. With the help of his friends, such as Han Solo and Leia Organa (who is actually Luke's twin sister), Luke manages to defeat Vader and the Emperor.

    The end.
We see the rise of Darth Vader and how he came to be and why he is ';less of a man than a machine';, plus his eventual rediscovery of his soul
    In a nutshell.

    Boring
go to youtube.com and just look for them and let her watch em
Simple, battle of good versus evil, you see the results when one makes bad decisions (anakin) and when one makes good decisions (luke). Anakin followed emotion and lusted power and was never happy...Luke rejected that and saved the universe (and his dad).
They are movies about the fall of the Jedi Knights and what happened to make them fall.
Anakin Skywalker is a girly mamma's boy who punks out and joins the Dark Side. And Yoda likes young boys...
    hahaha!! I LOVE STAR WARS!

    chosen one+nightmares=fear of future

fear+bad head man dude= dark chosen one

chosen one + dark side= fall of Jedi !

    chosen one+his true love=twins!

evil emperor+evil dark one=long time bad time

dark one's old mentor+twins= separated twins

boy twin +old mentor=return of force

return of force+evil emperor=fulfillment of profecy

    or in words:

Qui gon jin...*cough cough* finds Anikin Skywalker on a small deserted planet

he believes Ani is choosen one who will brin balance to the force

Jedi council forbids Ani's training Qui Gon trains him anyway

    well sorta...

he dies first and his student, obi one, takes over Ani's tutoring

    Ani grows up

Senator amadala and Ani fall in love and disobey the jedi rules and get married

Amadala gets pregnant and Ani starts having dreams that she dies giving birth to the twins

he decides to try and stop her from dying and swears alligience to the sith lord who is parading as the govonor if he will teach him how to stop death (Sith lord before him found out how)

Will there be a third Star Wars trilogy?

Does anyone know if there will be a third Star Wars trilogy? I know that I heard George Lucas said no, but it seems that it would be such a huge success and money maker for Lucas Films, LTD. Even if he doesn't direct it, there is supposedly still scripting for a seventh, eighth, and ninth movie. If you know of any links answering my question, please share. Will there be a third Star Wars trilogy?
It's possible but I haven't heard anything. Will there be a third Star Wars trilogy?
There originally was suppose to be three trilogies. The last trilogy was was suppose to be episodes 7-9 and deal with the life of Luke and the continuing saga of the Skywalker Family. However, Lucas says no now and seems to like saying the real focus of all of these films were on the life of Anikan. Oh well.

    Good Luck!!!
There is no more story for another trilogy. The reason that it was ever a trilogy was as follows.

George Lucas wrote a long story and took it to the movie studios. The studio that picked up the story said that it was too long and wanted the most exciting part as just one movie.

George Lucas pushed for the first movie to be Part IV and the movie studio accepted that, but never expected to make the other parts.

After the success of the first movie, the movie studio agreed to complete the second two movies continuing the story from Part IV.

George Lucas created his own movie studio and then completed parts I, II and III.

There is no reason for any more Star Wars movies to be made, as the entire original story has been told.

    Take care,

    Troy
no, cause George Lucas is into the Porn business now
I liked Star Wars but I'm sure that they are over now.George Lucas passed away so I'm pretty sure the trilogy is over.
dear God Please Let's Hope So

Souds like you got about the same info on the subject as I do .

May The Force be With You

    from:Darth Mysteriis
no. someone else might do this, but George has said no. there is a 3D animated series coming out either later this year or next spring. you can look it up on STARWARS.com.

He originally planned the story for 1 move but split it into 6 movies.
    god i hope not
No, there is no script for a third trilogy.

The future of Star Wars is the animated series, a live action series, and quite possibly the entire 6-movies redone in 3D.

    Edit:

    From an interview with MTV - ';This was never planned as a nine-episode work,'; Lucas said. ';The media [pounced when] I made an offhand comment, 'It might be fun to come back when everyone's 80 and do another one of these.' But I never had any intention of doing that.';

And for anyone commenting that there is a script for 7-9, if you read those from the SuperShadow site...that is the biggest joke of Star Wars info on the internet currently.
    Good God, I hope not!
The continuity wouldn't be there. 4, 5 and 6 were made back in the 70's early 80's, and the technology wasn't all that great. 1, 2 and 3 was made with up to date technology, so the flow af all the movies would be too weird.

Lucas did write a 7, 8 and 9, but he said he probably wouldn't do the movies about them. What he will probably do is a cartoon version of those movies, like he is to tie all the other movies together.

I did hear a rumor a while ago, when he was making episode 1, that his daugther might make the last 3 movies, but even if she did, she would face the same challenge he would, the flow of all the movies.
There are a lot of novels already written set in several places of the timeline:

    * After Episode VI, with Luke setting a New Jedi Order, and his sons and Leia %26amp; Han Sons as Jedi Knights,

    * Other novels set centuries before the Battle of Yavin.

There are material for many scripts there.

However, new movies must wait until GL changes opinion or he dies and their heirs allow another filmaker to make another triology.

Inheritence Trilogy - Eragon, Eldest, Book III?

Does anyone know anything about Book III. I already know about the cover. I'm looking for info on the story, characters, the new rider and other things like that. I 'd especially like info on the release date. Any info would be really appreciated.Inheritence Trilogy - Eragon, Eldest, Book III?
I love that series, I was obsessed with that series for a while too. I think the third series has something to do with the prophecy that Solumbum talked about in the first one. And Eragon will probably have to fight his own brother Murtagh. Most likely there will also a tragic death.Inheritence Trilogy - Eragon, Eldest, Book III?
We'll probably find out about the last egg and the third Rider. Oh, and obviously the whole issue with Eragon and Arya will be cleared up, and whether Saphira finds a mate.

Greatest trilogy of all time? It's got to be Mighty Ducks?

I'll accept films with more than the 2 sequels. I.e. Rocky, Karate Kid etc. As, we all know after 3 it just gets rubbish. How many 'Land Before Time' films are we on now? 31???Greatest trilogy of all time? It's got to be Mighty Ducks?

ok best trilogy ,quadrilogy , or on ......?

i have to say i did love mighty ducks [major charlie fan hahaha]....the children of the corn[ there are 6 films] .....star wars [ the original 3 and number 3 --1 and 2 ruined the saga].....silent night deadly night [christmas horror -5 films].........american pie [again 6 films now -6th is my fave]......

    but my fave would probably be ......hannibal lector quadrilogy ....hannibal rising,red dragon , silence of the lambs and hannibal ......four great films of cannibalism and psychoanalytical talks .......people burned to death glued to wheelchairs , eating other people , shoving glass shards in eyes , dancing around in skin suits , hanging /disembowelling people ,eating there own brains , etc.....and three of the most famous lines in film ever .....';It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again';....aswell as ...';I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti. ';.....and lastly...... ';I do wish we could chat longer, but... I'm having an old friend for dinner';

a honourable mention should definately go to friday the 13th ...cheesy as hell ..well beyond there welcome [10 films plus freddy vs jason ]but still funny and well worth watching to spot the child stars / guest roles /etc......think of any one from corey feldman ,kevin bacon and even kelly rowland ....well worth watching

    other worthy views -- scream [3] , alien [ 4 + 2 avp] , texas chainsaw massacre [original film came in a trilogy] , urban legend [3] , species [4] , spiderman [3] ,saw [5 -but only 1 and 2 are any good] , xmen [3] ,

scary movie [4 films -1st 2 are the best].....and so on ....Greatest trilogy of all time? It's got to be Mighty Ducks?
There are loads of good trilogies (or further). Die hard, Pirates of the Caribbean, Final Destination. Shrek (!), Saw are some of my favourites, but what about the worst? Must be ';Police Academy'; How the hell did we ever end up with SEVEN!!!
    LOTR Trilogy :D

+ The Vengeance Trilogy( Sympathy for Mr.Vengeance, Oldboy, Lady Vengeance)

    + X-Men Trilogy
Evil Dead - all great films.

Godfather - the first 2 were excellent, the third was not as good as the others but still solid - highly underrated.

Original Star Wars films - the prequels just plain sucked 'cept for Revenge of The Sith.
The Godafather (although, the 3rd is a bit s**t), Pirates of the Caribbean, the Bourne films

The ultimate has to be THE LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY!! Fantastic!
