Which trilogy do u think is more successful Star Wars or Lord of the Rings?

Considering that it was originally released in the 70's remade in the 90's and then the whole saga was wrapped up in the 2000's it is safe to say that overall Star Wars are more successfull than Lord of the Rings.


Give it time and the LOTR triology will become as well franchised and marketed as Star Wars.

I guess it depends on what you mean by successful. Overall, the star wars trilogy has led to highly profitable ventures in merchandise, movies, comics, memorabilia, etc. In that regard the trilogy has made more money.


Lord of the Rings is a similar massive blockbuster. However, critically it is more successful because it has won so many awards (Acedemy, Gloden Globes, international awards)
i guess it just depens, the two are nothing alike. i like lord of the rings better personally, but star wars the original ones were awesome too.(not the newer ones i hate those)
Lord of the Rings. It made more money at the box office and won more awards. Also the story has been around much longer.
You are comparing trilogies in two different genres. This is like comparing apples with oranges.
