I really like those books. They are so well done and original.
I like Garth Nix' Abhorsen Trilogy: Sabriel, Lirael, and Abhorsen.
Stranger in a Strange Land by Heinlein
The Blue Sword and The Hero and the Crown by McKinley
Susan Cooper's Dark is Rising books
The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub
The House on the Strand by DuMaurier
I am sure someone will suggest the Narnia books, Tolkein, and the Wrinkle in Time books, too.Are there any series/trilogy that is similar to ';His Dark Materials';?
Ursula K. LeGuin's ';EarthSea Cycle'; is similar to Pullman's ';His Dark Materials';. So are the ';Narnia Chronicles'; by C.S. Lewis. You may like Arthur C. Clarke's ';Rama'; chronicles, too. Asimov's, ';Foundatin'; series is always a good foundation for a sci-fi buff. Frank Herbert's ';Dune'; books are pretty fascinating, though the last few tend to drag, a little, eepcially the ones by his son.
