Were can i buy the 3rd trilogy of star wars books?

There is no ';3rd trilogy of Star Wars books'; ... there isn't even a 3rd trilogy of movies anymore as Lucas used much of what would have been in the 3rd trilogy to tie up all the loose ends at the end of ep VI. In truth the 6 movie saga we have now bears very, very, VERY little resemblance to the story that Lucas started out with all those years ago.





One of the many things that make the Star Wars saga unique from other movies is that they were NOT base on books rather the books were written about the movies.





All that being said there is a 3 book trilogy that Lucas has dubbed the ';official continuation of the story'; but not as ep 7 - 9. This trilogy of books has been dubbed the ';Thrawn Trilogy';. All three books were written by Hugo Award winning writer Timothy Zahn. They are set 5 years after the events of ep VI. The titles are: Book 1: Heir To The Empire ... Book 2: Dark Force Rising ... Book 3: The Last Command and they are brilliantly written by Zahn. The Last Command was one of only a select few books that I have read cover to cover in one setting.





I don't usually put much stock in what ';critics'; say but one of the reviews of these books said that Zahn captures the essence of the movies so well that you can almost hear John Williams soundtrack playing as you read the books.

There are over a hundred Star Wars books in print and none of them could be called ';the third trilogy of Star Wars';.





A good place to start would be the X-wing series by Michael Stackpole and Aaron Allston.
