Are the films on the Star Wars Trilogy Box set the ';special editions';?

Or are they the original, unmodified films?. It's a little unclear from the reviews and item description on Amazon. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Star-Wars-Trilog鈥?/a>

And finally, is it worth buying? Or will there be a better box set released in the future. Are the films on the Star Wars Trilogy Box set the ';special editions';?
they are the special edition... it is worth buying because it's star wars on dvd, but in the last scene and its digitally remastered etc... but I hate the fact that they replaced Anakin... it makes me mad!Are the films on the Star Wars Trilogy Box set the ';special editions';?
Hope he enjoys them!!! I still do!

It doesn't matter if you buy it now, or wait 10 years and buy it then. Lucas will keep pumping out new versions every few years, forcing us gullible fans into giving him more of our money.
Yes they are the special edition. My parents bought that same set. However, they're supposed to release a set that is unaltered. At least thats what I heard.
