Well there's this pill that makes a Pretty's brain back to normal, and Tally gets it, and shares it with Zane. The problem was, that you had to take both halves for it to work, and by chance, Zane got the half that destroys the things in your brain and Tally got the half that moderates the other half....so basically Zane dies from that...
