i really hate how these awesome books wre dumbed down for today's audience. PLEASE read them especially the bourne identity. SO MUCH was left out.
The first time I saw the scene with Bourne on the phone with Pamela and he says that line, ';You should get some rest, you look tired.';

Um... I dunno, I really liked Supremacy. I think it's my favourite one. And I love all the car chase scenes, they're always fun.

It's only because a buddy of mine is one of the marines that was in it.
the books were great. the movies were ruined by hollywood types messing with the plot line too much. they changed almost everything except for the character names.

who said it was a trilogy? as far as i know, angels %26amp; demons and the da vinci code are part of a series featuring robert langdon, sort of like james bond. it's not going to be limited in a specific number of books. digital fortress and deception point are not part of the robert langdon series.
it's not really a series. it just has the same lead character.

';The Solomon Key'; will be the third book in Dan Brown's Robert Langdon series. It's not necesarily sure if it is a trilogy, Brown may continue with the series after ';The Solomon Key.'; Time will tell.
I think you're referring to Solomon Key, by Dan Brown also, ofcourse. And Angels and Demons comes first before The Da Vinci Code. ^_^
It's not a trilogy. Angels %26amp; Demons and The DaVinci Code are two of his stories involving the same lead character, Robert Langdon.

Being a bearer of the ring, he has to pass on to the Undying Lands. He carried a corruption with him (all ring bearers do), and in order for Middle-Earth to live on the corruption must be removed.





Think of the ring as a virus of evil. Everyone that has worn it must pass on alongside the elves(which includes Samwise much later, since in the books he wears the ring a time or two).





The Undying Lands is where all immortals must go. Think of it as passing into Heaven for mortals. They don't die, but they do go there. I believe when mortals in LotR die, they too go to the Undying Lands.At the end of Lord of the Rings trilogy why does.......?
His ';era'; had passed, I suppose. He could not live a normal life because he was only half alive from his ring experiences. I suppose he had much physical and emotional pain so he went to the equivalent of heaven in the story. Something like that.
He isn't going to travel, or on any new adventures. He's going to the other side. His experiences as the ring bearer affected him to the point where he could no longer go on with his life.
He had to leave because of his marking on his shoulder he wasn't safe for his friends to be around them so he just left them.

I tried to watched Lord of the rings but just was not interested in it.

I have to say as movies go, POTC was better. It was well written and put together cohesively. However, LOTR will ALWAYS be my favorite story. I grew up reading it (and listening to my dad read it to me) as far back as I can remember. It was the first book I read on my own. It is incredibly detailed and well written. It is a timeless ageless story that does not and really can not have an equal in fantasy or any other genre.
before I read the rest of the questions I was going to say '; even though I love Johnny Depp I would have to be honest and say Lord of the Rings but on a different level ;)

Lord of the Rings no doubts.- fantastic special effects and lots more made the trilogy very, very interesting. It is a unique movie really.
for my personal tastes, Pirates was the better trilogy. I gave LOTR a chance, I really did. They weren't bad, but I prefer Pirates.


But the scores to both of the movies are amazingly beautiful!
LOTR i love both though but i was dissappointed by the second pirates of the caribbean dead man chest ill admit it was funny and interesting but it wasnt as good as people said it was...
Though I enjoyed Pirates (I wouldn't mind having even one third of the charm and wit of Captain Jack Sparrow) I would have to say LOTR is better. Fantastic adaptation, fantastic location, fantastic cast and fantastic crew.

I actually haven't seen all of the Lord of the Rings movies, just the first one and some of the second one....so my judgement isn't that fair, but I do like both trilogies.

Pirates! It is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. I have all three and I still laugh no matter how many times I watch them. The ';Other one'; I couldn't get in to, There's a difference between funny and childish.

I will. I loved the original three movies. No Jar-Jar Binks for a start.
I'll be right after you in line! This is the true Original Trilogy, I waited 10 years for it. Lets face it most of the changes of the 97 version were unnecesary. I even bought the -Han Shot First- T shirt as a statement. ;)
People are so nice. I'm excited. I disliked the modified versions and am happy that the originals will finally be available. If this makes me a sci-fi nerd or dork...oh well! At least I have imagination!
Not me - I thought the first one (Episode 4) was overrated, and the unaltered one now looks very dated. The second one (Episode 5) was my favorite (I think it's everyone's favorite). I love those huge walking thingy's that fell down so easily. I kept thinking, ';who designed that thing? it's so unstable!';
I'm excited, but I'm also mad because I just (well, in december) bought the visually remastered version. Oh well, I guess I'll just rent the versions coming out in September.
Old enough to remember them in theatre. the modified versions are better.

I've read ';Elidor'; but I haven't read the other two. Sorry to say, I wasn't all that taken with it. Something about the characters and the plotline just didn't click with me.





I can see how it would be a good book though. It draws on a lot of elements from old Arthurian tales (ie. the moving stone circle and the sacred objects under the hill).





If you like that trilogy though, another title you might like is ';The Dark is Rising'; series by Susan Cooper. It draws on both Arthurian and Celtic mythology and is written in a very similar style.
The poster is not talking about the wonderful 'Elidor' by Alan Garner (flawed, but re-reading it now as an adult to my daughter, still magical), but about books in the Dragonlance series.
